We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Automotive Service Manager to lead our service department with experience and enthusiasm. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and drive the profitability of our automotive service center. Your leadership will inspire a team of skilled technicians and service advisors to deliver top-quality repairs and maintenance, fostering a positive environment that promotes growth, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage a busy dealership’s service operations while utilizing your extensive automotive knowledge and management skills.
Responsibilities
Lead and motivate the service team, including technicians and service advisors, to achieve high performance standards in customer service and technical excellence.
Oversee daily shop operations, ensuring efficient workflow, timely repairs, and adherence to safety protocols.
Manage customer interactions from initial vehicle intake through final delivery, ensuring clear communication and outstanding service experiences.
Utilize estimating software and automotive diagnostics tools to accurately assess vehicle issues, prepare detailed repair estimates, and write effective service orders.
Drive sales through upselling additional services such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, suspension repairs, brake work, transmissions, shocks & struts, and collision repairs.
Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and industry standards while maintaining high quality control standards.
Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper documentation for all services performed.
Monitor inventory levels for parts and supplies needed for daily operations; coordinate with vendors as necessary.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement by training staff on new automotive technologies, estimating procedures, and customer communication techniques.
Proven experience in automotive repair or auto service management within a dealership or similar environment.
Strong mechanic background with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and repair procedures such as oil changes, alignments, suspension work, brake repairs, transmissions, shocks & struts, tire services, and collision repair.
Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Exceptional communication skills for effective client interaction and team coordination.
Knowledge of automotive systems including engines, transmissions, suspension components, brakes, steering systems, etc.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
Dealership experience is required and auto service management is a requirement.
